HUMAN CENTIPEDE (First Sequence)

I have been off tour for a little while now so there hasn't been that much "moustached adventure" to tell tales of.
So I think I'm gonna start writing reviews of the horror movies I have been watching lately.
I'll start off with this one....

Ok, here is my over all feeling, and review of HUMAN CENTIPEDE (First Sequence).

The movie starts off of a creepy note, whoever cast the Dr. did a pretty awesome job picking this guy. Totally adds to the eeriness.
The cinematography is interesting and reminded me of Suspira (Argento's masterpiece in my opinion).
It's definitely not as over the top gory and bloody as the SAW or HOSTEL movies, but there is some gross parts that the normal movie goer might be put off or sickened by. (I was laughing).
Is it worth watching? Absolutely.
There were some parts that even I stopped and thought "man, imagine being in their place". I strongly advise against any mode of thinking such as that while watching and after watching this movie.
Instead find the humor in the ridiculousness of it and laugh.

Its a refreshing albeit disturbing, modern Killer/Psycho/Sci-Fi/Horror/Thriller that isn't the "same story just new death scenes" sequels and the god awful remakes of classic horror movies that seem to be plaguing the theaters these days.

Now about this business of the sequel making this movie look like "my little pony"...
That's a tall order.

See you next time for my review of the new remake of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET!

Keep it creepy, make it sleazy, and take'r easy.

Waking up scared.

So I have some time off of touring right now, and I have been catching up on stuff back home.
Friends, skating, yard work etc.. also movies.
I have been trying to catch up on some movies I have been meaning to watch.
I think I may have reached a point in my life where the line between the real world and make-believe start to blur. It's kinda weird when my life seems more like a crazy story then a movie.
I can't really give an example, its just an odd feeling I get sometimes.
I also have realized I need to somehow start recording my nightmares. I guarantee there are way better than any crap that is out now, or that is coming soon to a theater near you.

Baby's first birfday

So my moustache turned one year old last week.
Lucky for me and my hairy upper lip, we were in Vegas for two days.
We celebrated and reminisced about all the fun times and great adventures we had in the past year, and how we look forward to all the new adventures that lay ahead.
Hold fast, and keep your eye on the horizon!

The Quest.

I am on a quest for the movie The Quest. Released in 1986 starring Henry Thomas of E.T. fame. Alternate titles: Frog Dreaming and Go Kids.
I'm pretty certain it's not on DVD. My only hope is to find a video store "going out of business sale" or a flea market where some dude is selling a bunch of VHS movies with faded covers and smell like cat pee.

R.A.M.O.N.E.S

If it wasn't for this band I wouldn't be the charming individual I am today.
One of my all time favorite songs by The Ramones.

last friday night I went to Generation Records in NYC to check out this in-store my buddy Mike was doing.
It was pretty awesome.
To Walk The Night and Killer Wolf on acoustic guitars and I got to meet some childhood heros.
Had some Red Bamboo with some drunken good pals I haven't seen in while.
Just a great evening all around.

Left to right
MikeD, Lyle Presler (Minor Threat), Tom B, Me and Eerie Von (Rosemaries Babies, Samhain and Danzig)

WTF?

Ok this is pretty gay, but I figured I might be cool and help waste time when I'm bored outta my mind.
I will be posting pictures from my adventures around the world, and probably making comments about the shit I hate.
Enjoy
